Every book you own, in one Pixel-native reader.

Pixel E-Book Reader is a modern e-book reader for Android, visually aligned with first-party Google Pixel apps. It reads 7 file formats and adds reading statistics, local backup & restore, richer book metadata, and text-to-speech — everything it reads stays on your device, with no accounts, no network calls, and no analytics.

What it does

One reader for every book format you have.

PDF, EPUB, FB2, TXT, HTML, HTM, and Markdown, all imported locally — plus the extras a first-party Pixel app would ship with.

7 supported file formats

PDF, EPUB, FB2, TXT, HTML, HTM, and Markdown, all imported locally via the Storage Access Framework.

Organized library

Custom categories, grid/list layout, multi-select, search, and a chronological reading history.

Deep reader customization

Typography, layout, and reading color presets independent of the app theme, a chapters/table-of-contents drawer, scroll checkpoints, and focus aids like a reading ruler and highlighted reading.

Material 3 Expressive design

Light and dark mode, dynamic color with Material You, 16+ curated themes with adjustable contrast, and pure/absolute dark modes.

Reading statistics

Time spent reading, streaks, and books finished, tracked automatically as you read.

Text-to-speech

In-app playback of book content with synced highlighting, so you can listen along as you read.

Local backup & restore

Export and import your library and settings to a file — no account required.

Richer book metadata

Series, tags, rating, ISBN, and publish date, alongside the details each format already carries.

Design

Built to feel like a first-party Pixel app.

Pixel E-Book Reader follows Material 3 Expressive — the same design language behind Google's own apps. Dynamic color, expressive shape, and 16+ curated themes with adjustable contrast, in both light and dark modes.

Privacy

Privacy by default, not as an afterthought.

Everything you import and read stays on your device

Pixel E-Book Reader collects nothing. There are no accounts, no ad SDKs, and no crash or usage analytics. Books are imported locally through the Storage Access Framework, and text-to-speech runs through the on-device Android system engine — nothing is uploaded anywhere.
