Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 18, 2026

Overview

Device Housekeeping is a storage cleaner for Android phones, tablets, and Google TV. It finds junk files in your device's shared storage and removes the ones you choose. It works entirely on your device: it has no backend server, no accounts, no analytics, and no internet access. This policy explains, in plain terms, what that means in practice.

Information we collect

None. Device Housekeeping does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data, device identifiers, or usage information with the developer or anyone else. The app does not request the internet permission, so it has no way to send data off your device.

Your files

To find junk, Device Housekeeping reads file and folder names, sizes, and dates in your device's shared storage. It never reads the contents of your files. Files are deleted only when you clean, or when automatic cleaning is turned on, and every item is re-checked just before it is removed.

Cleaning history

Each cleaning is logged on your device with what it freed, so the app can show your history and a "freed so far" total. This log stays on your device and is excluded from Android backups; only your preferences, such as theme and cleaning settings, are included in backups. You can erase the log at any time with Clear history.

Permissions

  • All files access (Android 11 and newer), or the storage permission on Android 8–10, so the scanner can find and remove junk in shared storage.
  • See all installed apps, so it can tell which folders and installers belong to apps you no longer have, and never mistake an installed app for an uninstalled one.
  • Usage access (optional), used only to show how much cache each app holds.
  • Notifications (optional), asked for only when you turn on automatic cleaning, to tell you what it freed.

Third-party services

Device Housekeeping does not include any third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs.

Children's privacy

Device Housekeeping is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age — it does not collect information from anyone at all.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the update will be posted on this page with a revised effective date above. Continued use of Device Housekeeping after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
