Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 12, 2026

Overview

Stream Anything is a video player for Android phones, tablets, and Google TV. You paste or share a video link and it plays. It has no backend server, no accounts, and no analytics. This policy explains, in plain terms, what that means in practice.

Information we collect

None. Stream Anything does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data, device identifiers, or usage information with the developer or anyone else. There is no sign-in and no server of its own to send data to.

Links you play

A link you play is sent only to the site hosting that video, so the app can fetch the page and stream the video. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which Stream Anything does not control. Internet connections are HTTPS-only. Plain http:// is allowed only to private home-network addresses, such as a computer running Stream Anything Server, and every request and redirect is checked so a link can never fall back to plain HTTP on the internet.

Watch history

To let you resume a video, Stream Anything remembers where you stopped in your last 50 videos. These are stored as one-way hashes with a playback position, never the links or titles, so nothing can list what you watched. If you turn on the experimental Show History option, the links are saved too so they can be listed; turning it off removes them again.

Watch history stays on your device and is excluded from Android backups. You can turn off Resume Playback or tap Clear Watch History under Settings → Playback at any time to erase it. Only your preferences, such as theme and playback settings, are included in backups.

Play on TV (optional)

The experimental Play on TV feature never leaves your home network. Your phone finds your TV through local network discovery (mDNS) and sends it the link directly, with no Chromecast, account, or server in between. Pairing uses a one-time code shown on the TV. Each pairing's key is kept in the Android Keystore on both devices, every request is signed with it, and each device only listens while Stream Anything is open on it.

Permissions

Stream Anything asks only for internet access, which it needs to load the video pages and stream the videos you choose to play, and to reach your own paired devices on your Wi-Fi.

Third-party services

Stream Anything does not include any third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs.

Content

Stream Anything doesn't host, index, or provide any videos. It only plays links you supply, and you're responsible for having the right to watch them.

Children's privacy

Stream Anything is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age — it does not collect information from anyone at all.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the update will be posted on this page with a revised effective date above. Continued use of Stream Anything after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
